Styrofoam: Cheap at a Cost

Why do three star and under hotels, in the name of being cheap, insist on using styrofoam cups?

Using the most low-cost material that does not match the comfort of paper cups, let alone crockery, suggests a crude mentality on the hotel’s part that herds clients in and out like cattle.

It may be convenient and save a buck, but it ultimately shows that hotels don’t value their guests.

To add insult to injury, it is bad for the environment.

What are your thoughts on the use of styrofoam when travelling? Can it be avoided and eradicated completely, or must we bear having to drink the lobby’s instant coffee from something with the squishy texture of popcorn?
